About this experience

Experience the thrill of trekking on Africa's highest peak without committing to a full multi-day summit expedition. This full-day trek takes you through the lush, emerald montane rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park via the historic Marangu Route. Starting at Marangu Gate (1,860m), you will hike under a dense canopy filled with exotic birds and black-and-white colobus monkeys up to Mandara Huts (2,700m). Enjoy a picnic lunch at the hut, take a short side trek to the nearby Moundy Crater for panoramic views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya, and descend back to the park entrance in the afternoon.
