The name "Serengeti" means "endless plains," and the park lives up to it with its vast, golden savannahs stretching to the horizon, dotted with acacia trees and granite kopjes. It is world-renowned for its staggering concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five," and is home to some of the best big cat viewing in Africa. The park's ultimate spectacle is the Great Wildebeest Migration, and the timing now, in mid-July, is absolutely prime for witnessing its dramatic river crossings. The massive herds are typically concentrated in the Western Corridor, where they face the perilous challenge of crossing the crocodile-infested Grumeti River on their northward journey. Beyond the migration, the Serengeti delivers incredible game viewing year-round, offering a timeless and profound connection to the raw, untamed spirit of Africa.
